Shop ’til you drop @ Food Lover’s Market

For our ILT, we visited Food Lover’s Market on Sandown Road. Each group had a budget of R100 and it was very interesting observing their negotiation skills and making decisions. They had to choose two fruit from 3 categories (deciduous, citrus and sub-tropical) and pay for their goods at the cashier.  If they had money left, they may choose more fruit from the list. One group had only 10c left after their shopping experience.

QR Codes in the QUAIL CLASS

The 18th of February was a very important day on our calendar. Our Grade 4s brought their iPads to school for the first time this year.

We are currently doing addition and subtraction in Maths. During our Maths period, the students solved the problems on a recording sheet and then checked their answers by scanning the QR code.

It was wonderful to be part of the excitement and enthusiasm for Maths.

Quails @ the AACL

The Quails had an awesome time playing with the rescued animals. These dogs and kittens are rehabilitated for adoption.  We also wrote thank you  letters to Mpho who works at the  Epping Branch.  Each child experienced “Living and Loving beyond Self”.

Enjoy reading the authentic letters our children wrote to Mpho. Many hearts were touched! Learning beyond the classroom in full swing!

Fantastic Pheasants at the Beach

On Thursday the 28th of January the Grade 4 Pheasants joined the rest of the Grade 4s for a wonderful morning of bonding and frivolity at Small Bay beach. The weather was perfect, with lovely warm water and pleasant temperatures. A gentle mist hung around for a while keeping the bathers cool while they enjoyed the waves under the watchful eyes of the teachers and lifeguards. Other members of our class preferred to clamber on the jungle gym or spend some quality time with mom or dad. The ice-cream man made his appearance mid morning, much to the pleasure of the pupils who quickly depleted his stock. All in it was a wonderful morning enjoyed by all.
